A new arts and crafts fair in Suffolk continues to grow, hosting 50 exhibitors for its latest event.
The Leiston Community Arts and Crafts Fair welcomed craftspeople from across the county and beyond, including Halesworth, Beccles and Diss, to the town’s Victory Road football ground on Sunday.
They had the chance to show off their wares including woodwork, glass, jewelry and textiles, while there were also food stalls selling cakes and jams and a special producer present was the Pickled Jam Company in Hadleigh, well known for its banana ketchup.
The fair was launched by Leiston resident Christine Biggs in 2019 after asking a question on Facebook about knitting and seeing that there was a lot of interest in launching the event from local artisans.
She said: “It was brilliant. The football club went out of their way to accommodate the artisans and we had a full house today with around 50 stands.
When the event started there were 36 booths, but by the time of the last fair this summer that number had grown to 70.
The last two took place at the football club, having taken place at the Sizewell Sports and Social Club.
