Home improvement retailer turns decorator with new vacation rental collaboration

To get the designer look into the home, The Home Depot teamed up with design-focused influencers Holly and Brad Lauritzen from Our fake farm in Austin, TX; Fariha Nasir from pennies for a fortune in Cypress, Texas; and Danielle Guerrero, based in Orange County, Calif., Our nest on Powell to reinvent the living spaces of the house.

The four-bedroom, six-bathroom home, located on Lake Laurel in the Berkshires in Lee, Mass., features many of The Home Depot’s exclusive brands, including the Interior Designers Collection bathroom furniture, flooring, ceiling fans and window treatments; StyleWell home decor, which runs the gamut from beds and patio furniture to home accents; and The company storeknown for its duvets, pillows and down bedding.

Using products found at The Home Depot or homedepot.com, designers leaned into themes such as timeless decor by combining contemporary furniture with vintage-inspired wallpaper and lighting, and functional, comfortable living. thanks to additions such as the kitchen bar and the use of comfortable textiles throughout the house.

The products have been selected to both enhance the guest experience and accommodate the type of use many visits to a vacation rental typically receive.

“Enhancing any home or rental property with furniture, wall art, wallpaper and textiles can really change its personality without the need for major renovations,” said Corinne Bentzen, General Manager of The Home Depot Home .

Using the Berkshires’ home as a backdrop, she said: ‘We’re excited to show how these easy and achievable updates – from fresh bedding and throws to functional seating – can impact travelers and the owners.

Influencer Fariha Nasir designed one of the home’s four bedrooms.

The living room, designed by the Lauritzens, features a beige three-seater sofa with rolled arms, a set of casual armchairs with wooden arms and legs, a large round wooden coffee table and plenty of accent and throw pillows in neutral shades of gray. , cream and beige.

The couple also redecorated the pantry, dining room, reading nook, master bedroom, powder room and patio.

The pattern comes into play in Nasir’s guest bedroom renovation which is anchored in York’s Arts & Crafts style wallpaper. Gold, olive blue, and gray accents, including a retro-style gray striped chair, gray and olive rug, and arched gold mirror, complement the metal-framed upholstered bed. For textiles, the bedroom includes Company Store Egyptian cotton sheets in white, a navy and white striped cotton throw, and a dark taupe waffle weave.

Nasir’s influence is also found in the twin and balcony rooms.

Guerrero took charge of the morning kitchen, porch, lobby, sauna, and rooftop terrace. The latter includes a fire pit, wicker outdoor furniture with two swivel chairs featuring ash-gray Sunbrella cushions, faux greenery, and patterned accent pillows in outdoor-friendly fabrics.

Among the spaces redecorated using Home Depot products was the roof terrace.

As a background palette for furniture and furnishings, the home presents a blank canvas – Behr’s Color of the Year 2023 — as a wall color for common areas. Soft white with a warm undertone works with the mostly neutral shades used in the furniture as well as the occasional pop of color in the space.

Rental costs for the property, which is privately owned, vary by date and availability.
